Atal Innovation Mission(AIM)
Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) under the flagship of NITI AAYOG and Talent Utilization (SETU) is Government of India’s endeavour to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. Baroda High School Bagikhana is among the few schools of Vadodara having well equipped ATL Lab. The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds and inculcate skills such as design mind – set, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing, rapid calculations, measurements etc.
Skills for Adolescence - SFA
Skills for Adolescence (SFA) is a program which helps in developing children to become better citizens of tomorrow. It is run by Lions Club International which is the largest service organisation in the world. Our trust BLCET has co-ordinated to conduct this program in our school on a regular basis as it is designed to support the development of a capable healthy young adolescent of strong character. This program is conducted every week in our school by specially trained teachers. Parents are also involved time to time as they are playing and important role of parenting their child.
Skills for Growing Up - SFG
Skills development as a part of school education is indeed important to establish a strong foundation for a thriving future. Self awareness, excellent communication skills, problem solving and critical thinking capabilities are some of the important benefits of learning through a well rounded curriculum. Skill development at an early age helps the child growth in a better way. It prepares students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to avoid unhealthy situations and resist negative peer pressure. A skill for Growth is built on a partnership among students, school, home and community.
Judo
Judo, the way of gentleness, which was created from the martial arts, is an ideal form of physical exercise and self defence. Judo is also a source of educational enhancement.It is more than just an art of attack and defense.Judo art enhances physical fitness, develops mental alertness,improves social interaction, builds confidence, improves the co-ordination of the eyes, hands and legs.It is an individual game which is introduced in Baroda High School Bagikhana under the guidance of trained and specialized coach.
Cricket
Cricket is a widely played outdoor game. There are many complexities and rules related to cricket. One can’t play or understand the game without knowing them, but eventually with watching and playing the game one gets familiar with the game. Playing cricket has various health benefits, one is likely to remain fit if he is a regular player, along with that, cricket would help one in building on various other skills as well, say it helps one develop the side of interpersonal skills, leadership, team-work, will power and stronger self-esteem .Baroda High School Bagikhana has introduced cricket under Champions Academy for students of Std VI to Std VIII. We have specialized coach for coaching our students.
Hockey
The Hockey Game has much importance in India as it is our National sports of India. Mental strength is as important as physical strength when playing a sport like a hockey. Hockey is not only physically demanding but can be mentally stressful. One needs to be good at decision making and planning strategies. Playing this sport continuously can help athletes stronger mentally. Hockey players develop powerful relationships and often lasting friendships with their teammates. Specially trained professional Hockey coach train our students of Class III to VIII everyday for Hockey.
Speedball
Speedball was introduced as an important part of sports curriculum in Baroda High School, Bagikhana. Trained coach for this sport is assigned to train our children. Speedball is a great exercise. It burns energy, requires excellent reflexes, hand eyes coordination and strengthen the muscles in arms and legs.
Mounting Maths
Mounting Maths is a mathematics enhancement program specially designed by the teachers of Baroda High Schools under the able guidance of Trustees and Principals. This program aims to help students to overcome the fear of math, to explore various strategies of math and to develop growth mind set. Mounting Mathematics is conducted for students of StdVI ,Std VII and Std VIII every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively during school hours.
TodFodJod
TodFodJod is an initiative of Vadodara Innovative council which aims to provide hand on learning environment where students can de-construct, reconstruct or re-purpose everyday equipments like emergency light fan, touch screen, water purifier, microscope etc VLCC has provided opportunity for our students to be part of this program .We have two batches of 25 students each of Std VII and Std VIII. The classes are held every Wednesday between 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for each batch. Learning is done under the guidance provided by facilitator’s of TFJ.
Music Room
Music is the universal language of humanity. It makes education more enjoyable and creates a positive aura in the school environment, relieving children from the stress of competitive education. Keeping that in mind the school management thought of teaching music as a subject long back in the 60’s. The school has a vibrant and rustic music room nestled among the lovely green campus of the school. The music room has different types of instruments which are taught to students as a part of their regular curriculum. The school band has won many accolades at the district and state level. Students trained here participate in Kalamahakumbh and other music festivals and make the school proud.
Dance
Bharatanatyam is a major form of Indian classical dance. It is one of the eight widely recognized Indian classical dance forms.
We at Baroda High School have highly qualified experienced dance teacher for training and guiding our students.
Library
The library is the central hub of learning in the school. It is the place where young minds initiate their learning journey and plays a vital role in the academic success and shaping the personality of students and educators. BHS School library has a huge and varied collection of books ranging from fiction, motivational, spiritual, music, craft, sports and literary classics. It caters to the need of kindergarten and primary children. It also has an enviable collection of pictorial books for our preschoolers and the precious collection of encyclopedias and reference books stands out as many of them are not available in print now. As it is an old library, many books are rareand copyright free. Keeping in track with the technological innovation, the library has now automatized its various house keeping functions and the book database is now accessible through the ERP module of the school.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics is considerably more than simply muscular strength and flexibility. Gymnastics is an excellent sport for developing motor skills, balance, and coordination. It is also one of the most effective strategies to keep your body active. It may also help
you enhance your overall health in a fun and engaging way while also instilling confidence and strong decision-making abilities that the child needs. gymnastics enhance your co ordination, confidence, teamwork, flexibility, cognitive development and
a healthy way of life with great fun.
Computer Laboratory
Students need to be aware of technological advancements to be successful in their academic pursuits. It is the era where information is considered as “power” and the country needs to train children to be competent enough to face the challenges of the ever changing technology. The students can use this as a tool to enhance their knowledge and creativity. The school has setup a state-of the art computer laboratory with the latest configured processors and a high speed internet connectivity to give our children access to the astounding world of computers. Students are taught concepts of computers and have a hands-on experience of learning and implementing theoretical principles of computation.
Class Room
As we all know that a positive classroom environment is very essential for all the students. A large amount of the child’s time is spent sitting in a school classroom. So we have designed our classrooms with well equipped study environment. Our school classrooms are spacious, comfortable with well ventilated. Our classrooms have maximum exposure to natural light. Classroom temperature is well managed. We have good quality blackboard, benches cupboard, dust less chalks, We also have a display board where students’ activities are displayed. Classroom is provided with a proper sitting arrangement which facilitate an optimum teacher student interaction.
Camps and Fieldtrips
Camps provide a safe setting for students to set themselves free and have a good time. Baroda high school also organize camp activities which focus on having fun while simultaneously teaching students life skills, building resilience and fostering their
creativity. It is an excellent approach to encourage students who are too sedentary to live a much more active life, reducing their screen time. Camps provides children with a community of caring adults. When children return home from camp they are more caring, understand the importance of giving, are more equipped to stand up for what they know is right, and are willing to be
more responsible. These are the qualities that will help build a successful nation and a civil society. Camps provide a safe setting for students to set themselves free and have a good time.
